By Elaine Crystal healing is a new thing for me and by purchasing this wonderful book i get to know more about it and how it affects my overall well being. The book started of as very informative since it gives a brief preview of how chakras work which i like. It is reader friendly and coherently written making it ideal for beginners like me. The book taught me the importance of keeping the balance of that energy within me in order for my life to be productive and have peace with oneself.

I use for in-home bible study and it provides an excellent tool to focus on key themes.Like everything in life and over time, the format has changed a bit from how it was formatted several years ago. There used to be a section years ago, that used (practical) stories in each lesson to tie it to the scriptural lesson together that helped in every day (life) applications.

The iPad version of this book has all of the same resources as the paper book. In addition, all of the scripture references in the lesson is linked to the Bible passage referenced then linked back to the lesson. It is easy to study and teach from.

Clay, is a fast paced Military mystery. Two childhood friends disconnect from each other after a falling out of sorts. Upon learning of his friends death, Clay begins traveling down memory lane wishing he could return to the day where he and his best friend parted ways. After hearing the news that his friend was not dead, but alive and in route to the Naval hospital, he began the journey to patch up the relationship. When Mike and Clay are reunited, Clay makes the horrific discovery that Mike has lost all memory prior to his deployment and accident. The story continues on with Mike becoming aware that he "assaulted" an officer and is in the process of being Court Marshall. Once being released, Mike asks Clay to take him on a trip back to their home town so that he may find the missing pieces of his memory and reconnect with family and loved ones. After being locked up, disowned, and finding out that he was a millionaire, Mike and Clay head back to base just to end up departing one another along the way. When Mike fails to show for his Court Marshall, Clay goes to find him locked in a hotel room with a woman and drunk beyond recognition. After realizing that Mike was being duped by his "friend" Q, he is quick to accept Clay back. After being cleared of all charges, Mike leaves and goes to, once again, reconnect with his past. He finds the love of his life and discovers the reason why he and Clay parted ways in the beginning. He realizes now, that it is all in the past and can now start focusing on the here and now.THe book focuses on the corruption that lies within our military judiciary system and with it's senior officers. How they can turn one thing into something completely different. Explains how protocol is over looked and pass orders down.This book captured me from the very beginning and kept my attention all the way through.

A great read and true story too WOW By tammy ward Wow,this is a book about 2 friends who are in the Marines and grew up together but then are separated for 13 years and come together through Mike one of the men having a horrific accident in a roadside bomb on duty in Iraq and then Clay the Main character needing to help his friend who has amnesia and many other things refind himself and who he is and also how they connect,this is a true story and is remarkably well written and very suspenseful,it draws you in and keeps you there to the end of the book.I love the descriptive details of all that is going on and the roller coaster ride Mike is on,Clay is trying to sidestep some of the past to get Mike back to the here and now without ruining their new found friendship and explain some of the things Mike is missing without going against direct orders,WOW,E.Clay the author is amazing at telling a real story and so well too,i was especially in awe of Mikes past and all the things he could do and all the abilities he lost but got back through other things,this is a definite exciting page turner that kept me rooting for the underdog who it seems wasnt really the underdog at all.I am definitely going to be looking for much more from this author.And i can tell you that this friendship deserves saving and forgiveness on alot of levels and i got tears in some spots and then edge of the seat worry and excitement on some,this has it all.And the revelation Mike finds out about his parent situation is mind blowing but a relief when all is said and done there.And then the court martial and hearing in full detail and all that tells is another mind blowing event.I am amazed that all this went on and so glad that there are good outcomes in the scheme of things and sometimes we have to protect what is there to get back to where we need to be and pray we make the right decisions and for the best outcome and Clay discovered that all too well.

This story will have the reader anxious to turn the page all the way to the very last page. Fade to Black is a roller coaster ride of emotions as you follow Clay Thompson as he visits memories of his childhood, uncover surprising events of the present, and through tough decisions that will affect his future. The book is such a unique story that touches bases with friendships (old and new), lost love, memory loss, money, the military, and some legal issues. I love that this book is based on a true story. I like that I could actually feel so much emotion throughout the story. I could feel the emotions Clay was feeling, trying to deal with the dilemmas with his childhood best friend, Mike. He was really torn between making ethical decisions and saving a friendship. I could feel his annoyance with Q, for being the new friend in town, and for just being a basket case of a person. I literally couldn’t stop scrolling through the court hearings that were taking place, to find out what the end outcome would be. The book was very to the point, which was good at times. But if there was one thing I would change about this book is that it would be a little more descriptive and not so to the point. Short and sweet is good sometimes, but detail is good too. It’s important to me, to find a good balance between the two. But this was still a great read. I would recommend it to anyone who would enjoy a great story about friendship and conflict that will keep you wanting to more until the very end.

The essays are reminiscent of holidays, activities, everyday life & phrases from our youth. While it is always pleasurable to remember the "good old days", it is nice to share these memories with our children. This book is a great way to do it.

My Irish family lived 400 miles away and I only saw them two or three times a year for about three weeks but because they were many aunts, uncles and cousins involved I felt a strong association with the Irish.On the other hand the city where I lived, the neighborhood where I lived and the schools I attended were almost totally Italian but because I was third generation, it was a smaller family and Italian wasn't spoken in my home I think I took the Italian side of me for granted. It was all around me and that was that.Reading this book reminded me of so many little things that at the time I didn't think much of but now realize how important they were. My grandfather who was born in Sicily didn't speak English and never ventured around the neighborhood but every afternoon either my mother--or myself when I got older--would drive him to the club--a smoked filled room where he would play cards for several hours. Until I read this book I never thought about how important it must have been for him to be surrounded by men who were his age, probably had similar working experiences, and the similar handicaps of living in a world so foreign.I loved the emphasis the book places on words and phrases. When I was growing up, my oldest uncle spoke very good Italian as did my father and next uncle. My youngest uncle knew very little Italian and what he knew I don't think he knew well. I remember his brothers egging him on to say certain words or phrases or asking him questions in Italian to see what his response would be. Reading this book made me realize how just a small difference in reflection was so important.I thoroughly enjoyed the stories, the personalities (and Italians are wonderful personalities)and the personal accounts.I would recommend it to any third generation Italian-American like myself who was in the middle of these experiences but maybe didn't quite realize the significance of them. Also for anyone else because the stories are universal with just the names and language changing.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. NOT A "PART 2" !!!!! By Frenchi704 The only reason I read this book is because I stumbled upon it literally 2 days after reading "Black Reign". This was a continuation of the first book, yet the storyline was completely different. The main character is now Black. & I was just confused as ever because there was wayyyyyy too many characters! I found myself having to flip back pages to remember who was who in the book simply because there was so many names to remember. These names were frequent in almost every paragraph on every page of every chapter in this book. It seemed like EVERYONE in this book was the main character! Very confusing & hard to follow. I really wanted Edd Mcnair to follow up with Angela & Monica's back story & even talk about how she coped after Mac & Damien's death...heck, even Quinn could've been mentioned. Yet...nothing! This definitely wasn't a "Part 2" , this book should've been titled something completely different.So about the actual storyline... it's VERY hard 2 follow. So only read if you absolutely have nothing else to do!& 1 last thing, it's just bothering me to know, why doesn't the back of the book overview not have ANYTHING to do with the actual book itself? In "Black Reign" the 2nd paragraph on the back of the book discusses Black, yet he's not even in the book. & in "Black Reign 2" the back of the book says 3 brother's including Junie, & Junie is not even alive in all of the book!

I did notice that the synopsis had nothing to do with the actual story and I saw a lot of upset reviewers mentioning this, but I would be lying if I said the story itself wasn't amazing.I loved Angela's and Damien's relationship. Mcnair didn't go overboard with when describing his thuggish demeanor and he made him seem very real and very caring towards Angela. (I'm a lover of romance!). In the beginning I liked Mac too, but then he had to go off the deep end and just ruin everything. I believe just like all young girls Angela and Monica were just trying to figure out what they wanted in life, but ended up getting something different.To me this book rated a five star because despite a few minor errors the story line was good and it kept my interest from page one. I tried to force myself to stay up until the wee hours of the night reading until my eyes started to cuss me out lol... I don't do that often. Mcnair don't take the criticism as a fail...let it ,motivate you brotha. Keep it up I'll be reading more of your work and I will be recommending this novel. #Semper Fi

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyy, they're young and fine with tight bodies and expensive tastes, to boot! At every corner, they're looking for young men to pave the way and fulfill their every need...both sexual and financial. Oh, but does such thoughts EVER have consequences. These two young ladies find themselves in some harrowing situations that may prove to be deadly!Again, I get the feeling that this author is trying to pen a novel for young adults, which is great, but I still have reservations about this novel. Granted, the main characters are just graduating high school and off to college, so they are naive and find themselves in dilemmas young adults their age and fresh out of high school often encounter. And that's fine, but I think the author should have included some sort of guidance at the end of the novel. This is not a book one would want their very young adult/still teen to read and just toss aside, there is some serious dialogue that should occur between the reader and parent/trusted adult.I think these authors have a responsibility to guide their readers, especially the young and impressionable.Another thing, the dialect really irked my nerves! And having gone to Hampton University, I cannot say that it's fully specific to the area.That said, I very much enjoyed the friendships within this book...Angela and her sistahgurl Monica...the two of them and their platonic male friend Rome. It reminded me of my own college sistahgurl friendships and platonic friendships with males.

Moving Foward by Stephanie Ike Review By Nikki Ottitochukwu Aduba Moving forward the book is a Biblical teaching written by Stephanie Ike that allows you to step out of stagnancy and move into purpose.I believe that it is a definite and must read for everyone.I absolutely loved this book.From the moment I began reading Moving Forward I was unable to put the book down until I read the last page the next morning .It is filled with teachings on how to renew your faith and provided continuous divine confirmation, and understanding on the power we have over our purpose. It not only equips you with each and every tool needed to discover your purpose but it also warns you of the stumbling blocks you may face along the road and then quietly guides you all the way to the finish line.Moving forward taught me to abandon the role of victim completely and to put on the full Armour of God and step into victorious. Each teaching in Moving Forward is richly soaked with just the right amount of scripture to support it and it assist with the understanding of each lesson. It is easy to have passion ,ambition and drive but in a world with so much to do and so little time, every day distractions both big and small , We find ourselves completely stagnant and distracted .Moving Forward delivered a very clear and concise message .My favorite teaching in Moving Forward is teaching number 1# Gods Purpose Involves Your Mistakes .this helped me understand that God can use all of me.Moving forward is a masterpiece it defiantly meets the reader where you are no matter where you may be on your journey. The key is knowing the worth and how to get the most bang for your buck.Allure Stevens is a very interesting 18-year-old girl. She is beautiful girl with no lack of friends but like some, she has secrets. Once her secret is discovered by her father, Allure's life is set into fast forward! While being free to explore new adventures, some of those adventures were better left where they were. It doesn't take long to realize that everything that glitters ain't gold.The Power of The P is a book about life's choices and how to deal with the decisions that you have made. It shows you that actions have consequences and you have to deal with them or they will continue to be there waiting for you. The cast of characters are interesting because of the fact that they all have the same desires but seem to lack the correct motivation to get the desires results. This book has adult situations in it and it is not for the light-hearted, not a bad book if you can handle it. Walker has taken everyday life situations and created a book to keep you reading with your mouth wide open. I look forward to reading more from Walker in the future.

The title really doesn't match the story. It left unanswered questions about Allure parents. The characters meshed well at first in the beginning but after that the story just took off in quite a few different directions. You would think that what Sin did for a living she would of gotten to Kyle for being trifling. Serenity and Charity relationship didn't seem authentic enough. It was too much happening at one time. I gave the Author 3 star's for effort because the story has some potential.

Jayla is just a little to head strong to realize when someone wants to help, even if they don't ask first. Ian is used to being in control and fixing things. Communication is very important. I love that things came together in the end.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Adequate but Free elsewhere By Marvin C. Clapp I thoroughly enjoy Vachel Lindsay's poetry. The meter is reminisant of Edgar Allen Poe's verse. The subject matter is that of turn of the century (18th -19th) century. The mores and folkways of the United States were not the same as they are now. Lindsay gives you a cutting edge view of a mid-West American of that period.There is no interactive Table of Contents. That means that you must trudge through the book from front to back or you must hunt-and-peck for pearls.I frequently buy a book for a dollar on Amazon because it includes something like an interactive Table of Contents which the free version from other sources does not. This version on Amazon does not have anything that other independently produced versions have. Therefore I do not recommend paying money for it here. Currently this collection of poems is free on Amazon. By all means, get it here. If Amazon starts to charge for it, look a little further.

Hardway Vachel Lindsay's poetry has always evoked a memory of the first two decades of the twentieth century before WWI wrecked civilisation as it was then known. Imagine a poet who wrote poetry with the intention of it being set to music rather than just being read. Lindsay was a truly unique individual with an amazing talent that is under-appreciated. There is no finer poetry set to music than "Gen. William Booth Enters into Heaven, in the Charles Ives composition performed by the Gregg Smith Singers. My grandmother (b. 1900 once saw Lindsay perform, and I think it was the highlight of her life. She still recalled his performance clearly the summer before she died at age 92. The Gregg Smith LP of Ives' choral music which included "Booth" was the only LP she owned that wasn't by the Carter Family or Flatt & Scruggs. That's a high recommendation for Lindsay.

54 of 55 people found the following review helpful. NOT a GUIDE! Journal only!!! If you have a printer, save your money. By Roob I bought this for my wife, as she intends to do the Proverbs study this month. When we received the book, it is simply a few pages describing the SOAK and color coding methods (both available for free on the GMG blog). The rest of the pages simply have a single printed scripture facing a page that has CHAPTER 1 and the SOAK headings. That's it, for the entire book. There is no guide, no other text, no study, etc. I suppose the word "JOURNAL' in the title is somewhat descriptive, but it also seems as though more than just a few people thought they would receive more than pages and information that are easily printed out from the blog. Basically, what you are paying for is the fact that you have a bound book in which to take notes that has a nice picture on the front with a popular font. If you don't like to take notes in a notebook, or if you like to have the bound books to take notes in, this might be worth the purchase, but if you are looking for a guide, insight into the scripture from the author, or anything aside from blank SOAK bullet points, you're best just using what you have at home.

Awesome author but journal has little of her By BeckyW I LOVE this author- her books, her FB page and blog, her videos- but was a little disappointed in this journal because it doesn't have any text from her. She has amazing insights and communicates His message so well and in a way that women today can relate to, but none of that was here, except her SOAK method but those of us following her bible study (free on her FB and website) have been using that for months already. This workbook is simply an extract from each Proverb on the left hand page and the letters SOAK (with space for you to write) on the right. I'm happy to support her ministry, so won't be returning, but was a bit disappointed in the product.**update: I've found the blank space on the left hand page to be great for bible doodling after you've done your journaling**

I know it was to go along with an online Bible Study group, but I really anticipated more content beyond a verse and a page to record a SOAK for that chapter. I was hoping to find a least a minimal amount of study notes. Beyond that, every page is identical with really no content at all. Being on a very limited budget, I bought this in hopes it would prove to be a valuable tool. Unfortunately, I discovered it is something I could have done on my own in a notebook, as I have already been doing that method through my Sunday School class. While there are images of the inside of the book, there were really only 2 pages of content shown. And like someone else said, there weren't any other reviews describing the content at the time I purchased, and I have seen other journals that do contain some study information. I will still use it, but a heads up for others who may or may not be interested in something this basic.
