About the Author Saraya Ashley is an American born writer and poet. She began writing poetry at the age of seven and from then on it has always been her first love. Originally hailing from Atlanta, Georgia; she moved to Durham, North Carolina at the age of thirteen. She has an undying love for her people and origin for she is a young African-American female; she enjoys writing about her people and telling their story. She currently attends high school at Durham School of the Arts; she is a rising sophomore in the Gifted Writing Department. Her instructor and outstanding teacher Alexa Garvoille has helped her reach heights in writing she didn't even know she was capable of. She is an awakened young teen who just wants her story and people to be represented greatly in the eyes of America forever.
