About the Author Wendy Doniger O'Flaherty is the Mircea Eliade Professor of the History of Religions in the Divinity School and a professor in the Department of South Asian Languages and Civilizations and the Committee on Social Thought at the University of Chicago. She is the author of numerous books, including, most recently, The Woman Who Pretended to Be Who She Was.

Here: God Talks with Arjuna: The Bhagavad Gita But this book review pertains to DREAMS, ILLUSIONS AND OTHER REALITIES, which I bought as a companion piece for the big BG. I'vebeen comparing religions since 1980. DREAMS, et al does work well with that other, really fine two-volume book, although for its paper-back price it lacks the glowing illustrations of the heard-bound two-volume set, saving me about $70.I applaud and agree with the two prior reviews, which say what I might have said. This dream/illusion book offers good perspectives and complements my understanding of the big BG. Actually,this Dream book adds a great deal; skim the Look Inside features for good, clarifying aspects.
