About the Author Lori A. Reichel, PhD, is an assistant professor in the department of Health Education and Health Promotion at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. A former school health educator with New York State and national recognition, she has been asked a variety of questions by children on the topic of puberty and other sensitive topics. Her research interests include school health education, relationship management, and parent-child communication.

Wendt I reviewed this book online and then purchased copies for my entire administrative team. The feedback has been very positive from my administrators. They like the direct and no-nonsense approach in this book. The index offers an easy reference with quick access to good material when difficult questions arise from students. One administrator was happy to get it for use with their own Family. Dr. Reichel has used real-time questions that will help parents and professionals with the age-old problems we all face when confronted with either short or long "Puberty Talks." Her knowledge and experience make this book a timeless tool and a must-have resource that can be used for years to come. I will recommend this to my colleagues and friends. Thank you Dr. Reichel for bringing the puberty issue to all of us at a level that is user-friendly for health professionals, educators and parents. Those interested in providing good information for a complicated and sometimes uncomfortable topic will find this a valued resource when the need arises.

Cook As a health educator, I frequently purchase and assess books about adolescent sexuality health. This book hit the mark. This book is geared for parents, however I would argue that young people will benefit from reading this book on their own as well. The questions presented are actual questions from young people which makes the book ideal for parents and educators to use as a conversation starters with kids. The book is in Q and A format which makes it an "easy read" to quickly learn facts and information.The questions and answers presented address a wide variety of topics, some of which parents may not have even considered. The answers are concise, clear, and medically-accurate. This book is a resource that every parent of pre-pubescent children should have at their fingertips.

The questions and topics are realistic. Today's teens and parents need clear and honest explanations. Parents are faced with more questions than when I was a teen over 30 years ago. Thirty years ago we learned about 'the birds and the bees' and 'your friend.' Today the issues around sexuality and sex have become more complicated. This book is a great ice breaker and I highly recommend this to all parents of pre-teens and up. Kudos to the author for using language that is comfortable and appropriate.
