Johnson, takes us on an emotional journey into the psyche of a survivor of domestic abuse. Lisa Jenson, a successful Investment Banker at Morgan & Peterson, has finally put her abusive past behind her - or so she thinks. Afraid to love again, Lisa takes a six-year break from relationships; that is, until her strikingly handsome colleague, Marcello "Marc" Cavell, catches her attention. Try as she might, Lisa soon finds out that her feelings for Marc are stronger than her restraint.After serving three years behind bars for beating Lisa within an inch of her life, James Harris resurfaces with aspirations of reconciliation. She continues to reject James' assertions that he is a changed man, and after much prodding, decides to give love another try with Marc. Her decision only serves to fuel James' obsession: "I'll see you dead before I see you with someone else..."Laura T. Johnson's, Where Would I Be, is a heartfelt story of love, loss and redemption. Her characters and relationships were believable and relatable. While well written, there were a few choices that detracted from the story. Firstly, at times, it became difficult to tell who was speaking during conversations. This is an easy fix for the author. Secondly, many of the sex scenes (and they were hot!) had repetitions such as "whispered against her lips" and "hard against her inner thigh". Again, this is another easy fix for the author. Lastly, aside from the author telling the reader the ethnicity of a few of the characters, there was no clear differentiation in vernacular, preferences or mannerisms. Personally, I would have liked to have seen a clearer delineation between the ethnicities.Despite these detractions, Johnson still managed to weave a powerful story of one woman's struggle to love again. I would strongly recommend this book for anyone who has experienced abuse or is looking for a romantic love story. I admire Johnson for her bravery in allowing us a peek into her personal experiences with abuse, and I suspect, a peek into the heart of a woman who still believes in love despite almost having it beat out of her.

EASON i bought this book 36 hours ago and i finished it 5 hours ago. i lost sleep wondering who would do what when and with whom and how. i lost sleep wondering who would kill whom and if love would be found or denied.it was tender, powerful, wild, and funny all at once. the friendship, the fury, and the southern flair was all prevelant. i hope there is a series forthcoming. so many stories to be told.

But for every time Lisa says no to him, a little more of who he really is resurfaces. James Harris is the man Lisa Jenson thought she would marry. He turned out to be the man who would almost kill her. Twice!This is an emotional journey into the life of a survivor of domestic abuse.This is a good book for any woman who has been a victim of domestic violence or who has known someone who has been a victim.The few editing issues did not take away from the storyline.I enjoyed the book and look to read more from the author.

By Linda Sans When most parents' colorful memories dissolve with the passing of time like clouds in the sky, Ida Nalbandian patiently and skillfully takes everyday, ordinary moments spent with her children and crafts them into humorous and touching poetry. Her simple and realistic style makes us feel that these children are part of our families. She puts us in touch with the wonder that was ours when we were little. She is down to earth, funny at times, so knowledgeable and able to make somewhat difficult concepts cone to light. One of my favorite concepts was to be gentle to your touch as if it was a bubble being touched with a feather as well as being less solid but spacious and not make everything such a big deal. Also most key for me was not to run from the queasy, fearful, anything unwanted, etc. that they are the lessons and the richness of life.

By dragonhawk123 The First Lady is the first in the arsenal of entertaining Christian literature from Chicago's own best selling author Darrin Lowery. Part of his Weekend Books speciality The First Lady is an easy read that keeps you compelled to not put the book down until the finish. The characters are very realistic and deal with everyday issues that both the newly professed and the maturer Christian can relate to. Set in modern day times in an urban setting The First Lady beautifully describes the good and the bad of being a pastor's new wife and the trials and tribulations of separating a woman's secular past from her seemingly perfect Christian future. I would highly recommend this book as an addition to anyone's library of e-books. I am looking forward to the next brilliant work of literary art from best selling author Darrin Lowery.

I had to go back and read all the books prior to and then all those that came after. Most authors can master one style, one genre; but Darrin has stunned me with his versatility and ability to switch up his style. I absolutely loved First Lady! I will definitely be recommending it to my book club as a future book of the month. Sure to make for a lively discussion. Don't cheat yourself, hit that one click right away. You won't be disappointed!

However, I read his Mistress Rules and First Lady was the sequel. I loved the fresh and colorful characters in this book. The main character is someone new to Christ and about to marry a preacher. While this author does not claim to write Christian fiction, he did an outstanding job with his language and scriptures he used in the book. Looking forward to what Mr. Lowery will have forthcoming in the future.

A Tozer A Day Keeps the Spiritually Lethargy Away By Dr Conrade Yap This book is a collection of 365 readings from the pen and pulpit of Tozer, compiled by Gerald B. Smith. For one page each day, readers can enter into the short and concise theological teachings that are so uniquely Tozer. Written like a typical "Our Daily Bread" style, each devotional begins with a Scripture verse, followed by a short reading of Tozer's thought, and ending with a brief prayer. While the main reading is Tozer's, the title and the arrangements are Smith's.Just like what morning coffee can do to wake us up for the day, the daily readings are meant to rev up our spiritual engines for action. Tozer challenges us to read the Bible not merely for devotion but with a keen eye for action (Response to the Word, March 17). Just like Peter's exhortation to believers to persevere when going through trials, Tozer urges believers to not just persevere but to rejoice and to go through life in praise of God (Rejoicing in Trials, April 23). He warns us against compromising with the world, that no hybrid is ever allowed (Compromise is Costly, June 11). Even decision making is a life changer. The most important decisions we can ever make is to obey the Lord (Critical Decisions, July 2). There is an eschatological posture at the end of each month's reading. It helps us know not only what we are saved from, but what we are saved for (What We Shall Be, Sep 29). I appreciate Tozer's no-holds-barred style of blasting those who keep doting on the past and in the process missing out the potential and future glory (Doting on the Past, October 20).For readers who are interested, there is a companion volume entitled Evenings with Tozer, also compiled by Gerald Smith. By lovemykidz316 Mornings With Tozer is a daily devotional book compiled of 365 devotions that come from sermons that A.W. Tozer preached. If you are familiar with Tozer you know that his writings are very spiritual and encourage the reader to have a closer walk with God.It is the perfect way to start your day. Each devotion includes a scripture reading, a passage from Tozer and ends with a suggested prayer. The only thing missing is coffee, but you can bring your favorite hot drink while you sit in your favorite chair and you'll have everything you need. I know in my own personal life that it is very important to start my day out with God. When I don't I can always tell a difference. This book gives you a nice structure to follow.I have read several of Tozer's books and I will say that he always leaves me wanting more of God in my life. This devotional does the same, but it short little spurts. You'll reflect all day on the goodness of God and you will be encouraged to pursue God in way you never have before.One thing that I like about Tozer is that he writes in an educated way. For me, it requires a slower paced reading. No skimming through, therefore making me reflect on what I am reading. I actually even go back and read some of the passages twice. Tozer that have been compiled by Gerald B. Smith. There are 366 readings to take you through an entire year. Along with the reading for each day is a Scripture verse and a prayer. The readings come from a variety of Tozer's writings and sermons.This would be a wonderful choice for a daily devotional. The readings are encouraging and convicting. For example "Practicing the Truth" encourages us to put into practice what we have read in the Word. In "Our Unworthy Attitudes" we are convicted to have reverence and respect in the church. Each devotional is short but the words of Tozer are powerful. There is also a companion book that can also be used called Evenings with TozerI received this book for free from Moody Publishers for review.

Some designs take the entire/whole page and some just the middle. Some designs are drawn in thick black lines and some are not. Also, some designs have some area already shaded in black ink which won't give you the option to color that area in another color.Some illustrations are beautiful, some are full of pretty. See some images below. This book is not for me so I'm going to return it.

There was so much hostility and things being brought out into the open. I felt bad for Cherry because of the steps Slim thought it was necessary to take and hurt D'Angelo. Roco was just as dumb knowing he really wasn't built for what he was trying to do. Lady gave crazy an all new definition. I never expected her to take things that far. Richard was a blessing in disguise but at times I was questioning certain things he did. For the most part he came through when it mattered the most. No Tricia didn't! Now how trifling and scandalous can one be?! A lot could've been avoided had she not told so many lies. With everything happening around D I was happy when he realized he wanted more out of life. It took one occurrence after another but he got back on the right track. I liked Tara as well and was glad Lana got her chance at life again. When it was all said and done, the one responsible for causing so much heartache and pain got what that rightfully deserved.

I need a part 3 By Amazon Customer Te'jadan Jackson you have did it again wow I love this book I couldn't put it down every time I did I was dying to no what's going to happen next I couldn't believe it ended the way it did slim was a cold hearted soul I wasn't surprised to what happened to him I was so happy for everybody in the end but I'm wondering did cherry find her daughters did all the girls do right or went back and Lana and Richard what became of them and Trent too and was Tara sick. This is definitely a good read

This book was an excellent read truly enjoyed it. Lana finally got rid of Slim and him and Rock got what they both deserved. I cried when Maxwell did that to Cherry because she didn't deserve that s---t at all. All I can say it poor Lady.This book will hold you captivated.

However, as unlikely and impossible as their relationship initially appeared, it turned out they were perfect for each other. I really enjoyed this short read and would definitely recommend.

About the Author Michele Gilbert was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Drawn to literature and writing at a young age, she enrolled at Brooklyn College and majored in English. After graduation Michele did not begin writing immediately, instead she embarked on a career in the finance industry and spent the next thirty years on Wall Street. Serendipity struck when she least expected it. After ending a long-term relationship, Michele found herself lost and unsure what the future held. She began to read books on grief and loss, looking for answers. Those led her to delve deeper into the Law of Attraction and its power. What resulted was remarkable. Not only had she begun to heal, she had also rekindled her former love of writing and discovered her life's purpose. A great guide By Sam Trousler The journey to finding inner peace and understanding the environment around us is something that I have found to be what defines me in life. This book is a tool in assisting my ongoing training and knowledge on becoming the best that I can be. I like to stimulate my mental energy by introducing new techniques of healing and inner peace. I like how the writer’s tone in the book is guiding at a comfortable and consistent pace. It is really interesting learning about the different ways crystals affect me. I am already familiar with Chakras and the write does well in explaining them to a beginner, I wish someone could have used the same approach with me. Furthermore, the bundle of the books is especially good because they complement each other. I thank the writer for the introduction to each and every one of them, I take it kindly.

Author Michele Gilbert explains all seven chakras in a smart, enjoyable and easy to read eBook. It's all about certain power points in your body and making sure they are balanced / functioning. For example, if you have a romantic problem, then you need to take a look at your heart chakra. I didn't know much about crysyals and healing stones, but the second book in this two pack takes a look at those. Some good food for thought. For the current Kindle price, this two book set is a real bargain.

By Heidi Koller Non-verbal communication plays such a huge role in the success of a marriage! Gratitude (happy you're with me), attitude (happy to be with), and latitude (physically & mentally present) are marriage fundamentals. This book highlights how to work on your marriage. By frank william sonnek and it is also the most rewarding for those who make the effort.It is important to read it in context.This book is the Lutheran response to Roman Catholic Thomist Natural Law theology.It is a direct challenge and rejection of it.St Thomas was the most eminent disciple of St Augustine and also Aristotle.There is no theologian who was ever so brilliant.The Lutheran Theologians, led by Melancthon and Luther, take up the aristotelian philosophical categories overlayed upon christian theology by first Augustine then taken up by St Thomas , both guided by Aristotle. This writting is a careful rearranging and redefinition of those categories to re align from Augustine-aristotle back to St Paul.Words such as original sin, law, natural law, concupiscence, etc are all completely redefined by the Lutherans away from Thomas and Augustine back to St Paul, while remaining in the conceptual framework of Aristotle as the common basis for reasoning and organizing of ideas and for Lutherans to engage the scholastics on common ground.Next to the Small Catechism of Dr Martin Luther, this Lutheran Confession stands as the linchpin of Lutheran Confessions and thelogy. The later Formula of Concord simply cannot be understood without first thoroughly digesting this writing.My recommendation is to take the time to personally try to outline the argumentative threads in each article. It is sheer brilliance.. it does not turn its back on scholasticism, but rather enters its world completely and implodes its errors from within.The real difference here between Roman Catholic Thomist Scholasticism and Lutheranism is not justification by faith alone. The start of departure is the definition of what Original Righeousness and the Image of God consists of.Lutherans: Original Righeousness = Image of God = faith in the Works of Christ .Rome: Original Righeousness = Conformity to the Divine Law of God . It is this point where Rome and John Calvin agree and the Lutherans do not.So the restoration of the Image of God and Original Righeousness for Lutherans is , alone Christ, who is the end of the Law for obtaining righeousness. Once righeousness of faith is restored, the Law is no longer needed. The Law, incarnate in Christ, becomes existentially who we are, incarnate now in new man.For Rome and Calvin Christ is the vehicle to return to..... the Law. Ultimately then the Gospel serves the Law.

The book explains much of how to set a clear course with faith and belief. This is the confession that truly made Luther's protest into a way to follow.

Like a Counselor in a Book By Leah @ The Grace Bond I received this book to review from the author and wanted to share my thoughts:-Can be a quick/short read, or take it slowly and truly ponder the questions being asked.-Information is non-bias and explores all options including parenting, abortion, and adoption.-I appreciate it encourages the reader to explore ALL options to make the choice best for YOU (though as a Christian, it is hard to read the details of abortion). Speaking from experience as a birthmother in an open adoption, exploring all options (even ones you think you never would do) gives you confidence in your choice and peace with the decision made.-The information is written very positive and in a supportive way, offering hope and encouragement that things WILL get better and that others have walked this path before.-There are references for each choice in the back and further support to connect with others. In the ebook version each reference is linked directly to the source which is very convenient.-I appreciate that there are references to God or another belief system throughout as well, again offering encouragement to cling to something bigger during your situation right now.-My favorite part is this book is like having a counselor in a book. Having an unplanned pregnancy myself at 16 years old, reading this book felt like I was back in that seat talking to my social worker and counselor digging through both emotions and the logistics of my situation. I love all the thought put into the questions the author encourages you to dig deep into to make the best decision for you.This book would be great for anybody surrounding an unplanned pregnancy: The couple experiencing an unplanned pregnancy, the couple's parents, other supporting family or friends, etc. as good source to begin conversations. It also would be beneficial for social workers and those who work with crisis pregnancy situations to be a support for those that seek their help.The only negative thing I have to say about this book comes from the crunchy natural birthing momma in me. On page 19 it says, "Because you are pregnant, you are almost destined to have some kind of surgical procedure." This is false. Birth is not a surgical procedure and it doesn't have to be done with ANY interventions at all, if not needed. I believe this would instill fear in me if I had read this at 16 years old!

By Amazon Customer This publication offers an extremely balanced approach to working through the options available for women who find themselves dealing with an unplanned pregnancy. It does not lean toward one option more than another, but rather offers unbiased and helpful direction. The resources recommended are also thorough. If you are dealing with this issue, you owe it to yourself to read this book.

This Book Transcends Internet Resources By Barney Ruffles Several years ago, I was a consultant to the British Columbia Health Ministry in producing and providing content for a video about dealing with an unplanned pregnancy. Our approach was to provide an unbiased perspective that would help viewers make an informed decision about a pregnancy. The other team members included health officials, a gynecologist, and a psychologist. The focus was on making a decision, not what decision to make. Tyne Traverson's book is taking the same approach and is providing a much richer set of resources than we could provide in a video. At the time we made our video the Internet was in its infancy and was seldom used as an information resource. Unfortunately, the explosion of health information on the Internet has probably made more difficult to make a decision because of the bias, uncertain credibility, and unnamed sources used to disguise "knowledge." Fortunately, this book uses the latest data from credible sources and provide such a wealth of options, that it will be easier for those dealing with an unplanned pregnancy to make the tough but needed decision as to how to proceed. After reading this book and choosing a direction, it's unlikely that the decision will be accompanied by eventual regret, remorse or self-recrimination.
