Excellent reading for Elder Care Assistance By EvelynG Being in the health care field and dealing with senior patients for many years, I found this book by Sandy Myerson to be a "must" for every household. Everything from choosing the right facility, filling out forms and understanding legal documents to burial information (and all in between) is written in a way that all of us can understand and relate to. I applaud Ms. Myerson for her understanding of all the important trials and tribulations when being faced with the most important decisions concerning a parent, grandparent, or loved one. The forms are very valuable and make all the responsibilities you are faced with complete, and at your fingertips. These issues are even more relevant as the senior population is living a longer life.

Based on her own experiences, Sandy explains all of the issues that she ran into and more. Written in an almost check list style, the book is an excellent reference guide for anyone planning for the later stages in life, whether that be for their parents or for themselves. This is a work that I recommend to anyone looking for advice in the area of elder planning.

Weber is not only deeply comprehensive in her approach to introducing Brigid, acknowledging her complexities and mythological contradictions, but she is also comprehensible and accessible. This is the kind of book you could read multiple times and get something new out of it each time, and yet the first reading gives you such a holistic and loving portrait of Brigid that you can't help but feel incredibly connected to her, and moved. In this manner, Weber's book is suitable for both "Brigid newbies" and longtime devotees alike. The author's humor and style, blending traditional folklore, retellings of classic tales, analysis, and just enough personal experience, feels less like a formal class and more like an incredibly enjoyable fireside chat with a friend who's deeply passionate about the subject and eager to tell you about it in various ways, to connect Brigid with your life and experience. I'm eager to read whatever Weber writes next!

The Celts left no written history, so their story is told by neighbors, visitors, and conquerors. The Exalted One, passed on most frequently as Brigid, became one of the survival stories as the Romans, and later Christianity, swept over Celtic lands. Sainted by the Christian church (a testimony to her power as a deity), Brigid was eventually carried to the Caribbean where she became a vital part of Voodoo culture.This book, a true labor of love for Courtney Weber, is as definitive a history as is possible with the evidence left behind. Her modern pagan practice provides her insight into the story that is missing in strictly academic accounts.She cautions readers not to engage this powerful Goddess lightly. For those who are brave enough to take on the challenge, she includes meditations, rituals, spells, sacred objects, and, of course, magical potions. Weber does an amazing job weaving the folklore and magick of Brigid into this easy to read tome. For either the person who is first learning about Brigid as a Goddess or Irish mythology, this book is NOT to be overlooked. As a practicing pagan who works with Brigid, I can say that this book is indispensable. Weber lists spellwork, rituals, even recipes for different oils to make for Brigid. If anything in this review calls to you, please do yourself a favor and add this book to your collection immediately. If you are not swallowed up in the magick that is Brigid: History, Mystery and Magick of the Celtic Goddess, you are most likely not reading it, and possibly using it as a doorstop.

The story line is good and it has different twists in the story that will make you keep reading. I just know there has to be a part 2 because there are way too many loose ends and I'm curious as to how Janella Scott will tie them up. Awesome job!! Definitely a must buy for any avid reader. ☆☆☆☆☆

That ending had me down though. I loved all the characters. The girls had a wonderful relationship and so did the guys. They were a very close family no matter what. This was definitely a good read and I would recommend it all day!

By anon One star because the author assumes unattached women are husband-hungry gold diggers, and she contradicts herself on every other page/section. Trust, but don't be too trusting, and don't be a shrew or need to party- step up your domestic skills, be like his mum in all ways, read self-help books to figure you out, but for God's sake put the blinders on when he might need that kind of help-- because it's all about locking down A Successful Man (while keeping in mind having criteria is a turn-off) and inhabit a traditional Wife Material personae- there is no room for your personality when you're trying to get married, ladies! It's all about conforming to a vague set of male needs. In the last chapter, she (he?) even says, I don't meant to insult women, but.... -- "Kay" if you need to add the but, you need to rethink the statements you're standing by. The Takeaway chapter SHOULD be that it's ok to be single until you meet the guy you can be yourself with that clicks with you. Instead it's 'stop f'ing it up and don't give up on the only worthwhile life pursuit! You were born to be a Stepford babymaking machine!' I hope (s)he dates and gets out more and stops being so bitter about his wife (or secretly hating herself.)

I had to post my own review because I do not agree that the book is contradictory on each page. The author wrote this book as a quest to get the perspectives of several different men in order to help some women understand why some men are hesitant to connect or commit to a particular woman. The anecdotal method that she used to describe each type of woman was both interesting and enlightening. While I am not single, I found some of the advice and information given by the men who were I interviewed to be very helpful to me. Please note that you don't have to be single to enjoy this book and I didn't necessarily see it as a self help book. Men and women can get a different perspective of the opposite sex by reading this book. It is a short and easy read that I would definitely recommend to anyone navigating relationships in their 30s.

As the story began it started off real slow. . I figured that if I continued to read it would pick up...but as i continued reading it just became repetitive. . The same thing over and over... Milo with a different woman with lots of money... Milo pleasing woman like no other.... After the first two women I was over it already. .. but it just kept going... After about 9 chapters the storyline finally changed. .. Now Milo is suppose to be a tough guy... Really, the two did not connect for me... It took me about 1 1/2 weeks to read this One book... Really disappointed in this read... It was boring and hard to finish... Sorry not a good read for me....

It started out kinda slow but picked up in the middle. I was kinda upset at Toya for keeping it a secret that she was in contact with Milo's father from him. Every child needs that parent regardless of the situation. For Toya to have such a lucrative escort service it seems like it only focused around Milo so it should have been a story just about him. Would like to know what happens next....is there a part 2 coming?

Written from the perspective that believing Jews and Christians share a common Scriptural heritage, and surveying the Law and Prophets, it reveals the origin and preservation of a people through whom the world has been blessed but who are now existentially threatened. Increasingly isolated and discordant with the culture around them, believers from orthodox, literalist and fundamentalist traditions will unite in order to affect their mutual survival. Diverging from contemporary evangelical interpretation, the author concludes that faithful Christians with Jews will welcome the Messiah together in an apocalyptic future whose outlines can now be discerned. Six in-depth chapters explore the book's theme, frequently analyzing Hebrew-language biblical text axiomatic to understanding the arc of history as it impinges on those whom Scripture calls the chosen people. The first two chapters cover the Pentateuch, conquest of Canaan and passages in the New Testament relating to the Messiah's lineage and sacrifice, especially as intersecting the lives of the patriarchs. Chapters 3 and 4 cover the prophetic history of Judah and Israel that is for us already accomplished, but laying a foundation to discuss topical issues in the book's final two chapters. Chapter 5 reviews ecclesiastical and secular history from the post-canon period to recent past. Occasionally provocative, it expresses opinions lying outside the range of politically-correct denominational norms. Chapter 6 looks ahead to the end of days, synchronizing applicable Old and New Testament passages in a coherent narrative. Mixing original Scriptural insight, little-known rabbinic commentary and neglected historical evidence, Israel's Odyssey follows the trajectory of a favored and blessed nation to their ultimate Messianic destiny.

For example, I am a student of Roman history, yet this book taught me much about how changes in Rome impacted Israel (and vice versa). Example: The greed of Florus the Roman Procurator caused him to rob the temple, causing a sarcastic "passing the hat for poor Florus" by the Jews, which in turn caused Florus to unleash his soldiers on the crowd - killing thousands.Good detail on the scientific explanations behind Biblical events - for example, examining how all those animals fit in the ark!My favorite part was details of the Vikings and Saxons migrating into the English kingdoms, fulfilling prophecy from Genesis.
