Have you ever sat in a church service week after week but went home and continued to live a life outside of Christ? Have you ever led a bible study and looked like you “were perfect” but you were suffering silently in sin? Have you ever just ran from God all together? If so, then this book is for you. If you have ever felt that way, you’re not alone. Heather Lindsey tried to run from God for years as she sat in the pews at church on Sunday Morning. She realized that it was not enough to just sit in a building and call herself a Christian, however, that is exactly what her life showed. She was running from Christ and into the arms of this world. Jesus Christ is returning for His bride and you are His bride. He wants your loneliness, discontentment, pride, depression, suicidal thoughts, dysfunctional relationships, hurt, pain, love of money, people bondage, and every other area of your life. At times, we can hold onto these things while ignoring the beautiful covenant Jesus gave us that bonds us together with Him in beautiful marriage throughout eternity. Jesus can return for us at any moment. Will we be ready? Will we serve in the church our whole lives and then hear Him say, “Depart from me, I didn’t know you?” Will you continue to run from relationship to relationship and ignore His desire to lead you to your one day spouse? Will you continue to hate your earthly marriage? Remember, all of these things on this earth are temporary and our groom is coming back for His bride, so it’s vital that you are not distracted by the cares of this world. Join Heather as she challenges you to get prepared to meet our groom face-to-face.

Collectively, I read it in about a day.For the most part, this book is just an extension of two of her other books: Pink Lips and Dusty Crowns...just more developed and better organized. As with her other books, the author tends to make blanket statements and create bizarre scenarios based on her personal experiences. "You'll do a, and then b will happen. You'll begin to feel c, and it will result in d". That's fine if you want to share your advice based on your personal life story, but like Oswald C. Chambers says, "Never make a principle out of your experience". I can appreciate her candor and advice, but I don't believe in blanket statements.Secondly, I find it so that many married Christian women talk about single, independent Christian women as if being so is a sin. As if a woman who relishes her independence isn't fully walking in her calling. I myself being a proud member of that demographic find that to be both offensive and off base. Not every woman desires marriage, and there's no sin or shame in that. I don't believe that God favors the Titus 2 Woman over the Acts 16:14 Woman. What I felt in this book more so than in her other books was humility. In the author's previous books and blogs, she seemed to speak from a false place of mastership. "I've mastered this. We've mastered that." In this book, she was more honest about her personal daily struggle that goes along with living for Christ. That's relatable. That's realistic.I also liked the fact that there was a central thought in this book, unlike her previous books wherein the chapters didn't flow and some things seemed ill placed. The chapters of this book worked together to collectively remind the reader to get back to God.Although I found this book to be repetitive in and of itself and of her other material, I gave it a higher rating than her previous books because I got more out of this one book than I have any of her others. We all find our Christian selves in the regular, human struggle of laziness, doubting God, and everything else that muddies this walk that we're on--resulting in us becoming runaway brides. It's good to get that "Get back in line" wake up call every now and then. With all things considered, I do believe that the author is sincere in her mission to draw others to Christ, just human.

She honestly wants you to stop focusing on the things of this world and focus on Christ. I'm not sure why you would rate this book anything less than 5 stars. There are many messages in this world, but this one is actually telling you not to run away from Christ.

Heather is a straight-shooter about living your life completely for Christ; she backs her points up with scriptures and insights from her own personal testimony. Heather makes it painfully clear to the reader that a decision needs to be made, and that decision needs to be made today: Are you going to live for Christ or are you going to live for the world which is temporal and leads to destruction?! I applaud Heather for pointing out you can't do both, and again she backs this up soundly with scriptures. The only complaint I have with this book is that I didn't read it twenty years ago and save myself years of self-destructive heartache! At no point does the author come across as condescending or judgemental, in fact, she writes as if she is your girlfriend sitting down with you having a heart to heart discussion. I highly recommend this book to every Christian woman and look forward to her next release!
