3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. ~ Chaos Magick simplified ~ By SilverLining I read some of the other books on Chaos Magick and although it's a paradigm that focus on simplicity - quite often those books leave me more confused than when I started. But this book is different. The author definitely speaks from a perspective and vibe of experience and education. I will definitely check out others books by Mr. Hart . He has quite the approach. It's like if I left GrandFather Duke in the family laboratory with all of our test potions within an arm's reach. There's no telling what he can conjure up. But one thing's for sure. When he was done with his experimenting, the family was sure to be impressed by another incredible find of a magickian of the heart. Oliver Hart is the new GrandFather Duke.

I'm not a beginner to Chaos Magick, but I found that this was great to look at, with regard to essential fundamentals in Chaos Magick (Wait, isn't that an oxymoron?). I kind of wished the author gave pictures of his Sigils. Then again, I could understand that there are some things that are not to be shared in Magick. I think this is the author's best work yet. Really good, practical and easy to follow.

The text could be broken down a bit better to make it easier for the beginner. I say this, coming from a strong background with many years as a shaman—so I understand most of the underlying concepts that the author is trying to convey. But when she gets into the core information, later in the book, about ways to use magic, such as creating a servitor—the information is pretty solid and helpful…Personally- I’d say it is probably considered chaos magic, because it seeks to capitalize on and take advantage of the un-orderded energy of the universe.. those things which have NOT yet been formulated.. to find the moments when events are still In FLUX.. not-set/ determined.. and tweak those cosmic-points.. to affect the outcome one way or another…I really like the bit about creating what the author terms as servitors. I presume this term is an indicator of the object as a servant of the desired change.. the outcome you are trying to manifest and create. This is very similar to a lot of shamanic teachings, as well as “ law of attraction” approaches. There is something very universal about “like attracts like.” As such- in order to attract abundance, or love etc.. it is necessary to “already have” that aspect- as ironic as it sounds. Does it never seem ironic- that people always get more of what they already have? The rich get richer, etc. Well- that is precisely the problem. By creating a servitor, you are investing the object with that energy, thinking about and feeling the positive energy around the desired outcome. This is kind of like rigging the system/ game.. but that’s OKAY. So long as the outcomes are never intended to bring harm to anyone else—that creates VERY BAD juju—trust me!.. BUT- so long as what you are trying to create, does not interfere with the free will of others ( make fred fall in love with me—instead, the wish would be.. to create / bring an amazing loving relationship… so that the universe can manifest your desired outcome, without… coercing someone or something that is against a higher natural law and “flow.”The author does a good job, guiding you through the process of creating this “sympathetic magic” (like begets like).. helping you to create that feeling, or resonance, of what you are trying to create, attract of increase in your life. Following this kind of process can only help improve the synchronicity in your life, and invite positive enriching events and experiences into your personal universe.
