The story line certainly is not easy, but author Josh Gates has written a very intriguing story with characters, especially Scarlett, that his readers will care about and connect to. Readers who enjoy a dramatic story with strong female characters, stories of redemption, or just a good and fast read should certainly pick up this book.  He shows much talent and promise as a new author in this genre.

About the Author Josh Gates earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Saint Cloud State University. A welfare fraud investigator in Golden, Colorado, he is a former probation officer for the State of Colorado and served in the US Army Infantry and Intelligence. Gates and his wife are parents to twin boys.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great read! By Melinda M. Crowe I thought this was a great read. I found myself very engaged in the story. It had a realistic ongoing theme with many characters throughout the story going through different types of traumatic situations and never getting the help, they need in order to recover. It gives examples how unresolved trauma can create a viscous cycle that can damage generations of families. I found this book brought awareness that there should be a better support system for rape victims to assist with their recovery and to prosecute the rapist.
