3 of 5 people found the following review helpful. very intellectual By Julie B. wasn't what i was expecting. i am glad i read it, but it was very different. you could definitely tell that it was written by a german, by the culturally different feel of it. There were many many references to german writers and writing with which i was completely unfamiliar. i enjoyed the times that he wrote about writers and works with which i was familiar. overall it just felt like a strange book.
