Married to Murder By atomskeater Brandon and Zack have a successful marriage, a great family and home, and they participate in a variety of philanthropic efforts. However, they're each hiding a big secret from each other; they're each in vigilante groups, killing murderers and rapists by night. It's obvious that the two cherish their families more than anything and want to protect them, but can they keep up a double life and keep their families out of harm's way? I liked seeing how the family interacted; aside from Brandon and Zack there are several kids who were interesting and unique in their own ways.The early parts of the book are dedicated to building up the background and establishing the normalcy of the characters. I thought these parts dragged on a little, but after a few chapters the story truly took off and from there it was filled with action and crazy twists. Brandon and Zack are well fleshed out. The book delves into their pasts, which shaped their current vigilantism and some of their other vices and habits.The writing was not always grammatically correct, and sometimes the exposition became too informal for my tastes. Still, it wasn't hard to understand. I liked all the little details of their lives that established their normality; the kind of music they listen too, for example.

Married to Madness By Elizabeth Barbarick (Stuffed Shelves) There's a secret group of men who control the bad people in the world, lead by a drill sergeant named Leon. Not just any bad person, the really bad people like rapists, molesters, abusers, and murderers. No one knows about the group of or who is a member. Not even the other members.Zack, who was a soldier under Leon, and his son-in-law. Leon's daughter Brandon is married to Zack. Things take a turn for the worst when Brandon has suddenly been kidnapped, where she is raped and tortured.Zack and Brandon have a very unique relationship, hence the title Married to Madness. They truly do live in complete madness. Both of them have amazing spunk and attitude. Zack and Brandon learn some amazing secrets about one another. This may just mean the victim of the story is also the perpetrator. They must have a more in common then they think. It's shocking, so I can't ruin it for you.What's not to love when you have violence and betrayal. It's twisted, a little dark, and will grab you right into the middle of the madness and won't let go.I thought this book was just so fun. You can't predict what's going to happen next, and I was blown away by each sequence of events. I of course give this 5/5, it was well deserved.

Davis Married to Madness, by Devin Shane, is a sort of Mr. and Mrs. Smith style story that follows Zack and Brandon Cerasani. They have what appears to be the typical marriage that everyone wants. They are a wealthy couple in Philadelphia with a beautiful house and children. They are constantly giving back to their community through charity events, like anyone of their stature would, and for this people covet them, but it's what people don't see that makes them different. Zack and Brandon are vigilante killers by night, and it's only when they learn each others secret that Zack has to make a choice. All in all I found the book to be pretty decent. There were times where I felt that it was just to obvious and predictable, which really ruins a story for me, but in this case it wasn't enough so to make me stop reading the book. Another thing that kind of put me off of the book was that this story (for the most part) has already been done. Yes, the author does throw in a little twist that I left out of the review, but I was really hoping for something a little more original. So all in all a good read, but I was hoping for just a little more. I will be looking forward to trying another title by this author in the future.

By Teka7thletter Okay so let's be clear on one thing--if this was a hard copy/paperback book, the stories will certainly be longer. I have kindle unlimited and try to read my $10 worth, but it doesn't make any sense the next book doesn't come out until months later. I must say that Paris' story sounded all too familiar. When you get accustomed to a certain lifestyle, you get too comfortable. I just wish she reminded herself that she is a woman first. I would've just told my daddy on Lenox and he would've 187'd he butt. Lennox needs to sit in somebody's couch because he still hangs on to his strained past. I think the way he treated women in the story shows. Kingston, Kingston (fanning) he is that dude! I bet he is from Jamaica (hence the name)! He better not be dead or I'll need a refund when part 2 comes out.

By Shatisha N Intoxicated: Blinded by Love was the first book that I read by Miss Candice, but I will be reading more soon. I read this book based on a recommendation given on Facebook. I was advised "she's a great writer. Her books tap deep into your emotions though". I love a book that makes me feel different emotions, so I had to give it a chance and read it. After reading this book, I was mad I hadn't found it sooner. I have concluded that it is rare that books do not contain some grammatical/spelling errors; however, this book contained less than I have seen in others. It also excites me when I can tell an author has spent time on editing and had an editor that is about quality and standards. This book had me in my emotions and reminded me why I can't read in public i.e. almost had a few outbursts....Paris: She was the type that didn't appear to be missing anything growing up yet tolerated more mess than she should have as an adult to keep what she claimed to love. So many do this in real life... settle for what they have instead of going for what they deserve. I was glad when it clicked in her head that she was worth more, but sometimes we know our worth but due to convenience we stay out of fear of starting over. Hope she gets it together. However, if she puts up with anything else after how this one ends...I'm going to want to jump into the next book and beat her too LOLKingston (The mystery man/boss/ prince charming ... all of the above): Who would have thought he was who he turned out to be? Surely not me, but not knowing too many details about him kept me intrigued that he wasn't who he appeared to be. If Paris don't want him, I know quite a few, including me, who would say "write me in the story so I could have him". One thing I do know how this book ended with him better not be the end or there is going to be some issues....Lenox (The arrogant jerk/boss): Lenox may have been a "boss" running things, but he has anger/control issues. He may have had a rough past, but he uses that as an excuse for his actions. He isn't required to face the consequences because the one he hurts the most keeps coming back to him. He has the attitude of I can do what I want but you better not or we got problems. I sure hope something happens to him just because I can't stand him right now makes me want to curse just thinking about it!I am excited for part two! I got a feeling that Miss Candice is going to play more on our emotions than this one. I think I'm going to try to start preparing now for what is about to come with this series and catch up on her other books as well...

This book started off with a BANG and held my attention until the final page. OMG, that Lennox is a down right dirty, controlling, abusive D.O.G!!! I hope and pray Paris get some act right and leave that sucker for GOOD - that's if she's still alive. Good Lawd, I hope she was dreaming at the end! I also can't wait to find out who Daisy is....for some reason I'm thinking it's Janessa but who knows..... Miss Candice, I hope you don't make us wait too long for book II.....

Valerie and Jared are very sweet and enduring. Their trials make sense and you will find yourself rooting for their love from page one. Way to go Te. Another banger.

I love how this author develops the romance between the two characters Jayden and Valerie are so easy to like and they came off as very real people. The other characters in the book were great as well. I also love how she builds up to the first love scene it seemed real and I like that there were true feelings between the two characters when the moment took place not just lust but a real connection. I do think however that the editor should've done a better job with editing the book. I notice card that Valerie was called Veronica and then the past tense of drag is dragged not drug. Other than that the story was great and I look forward to reading more from this author.

He wanted Val to just be still and let him love her. Valarie was afraid because her father and brother both loss their lives in failed arrest that had gone bad.. really bad. So when Val found out that the hot guy she wanted all this time was a Policeman, all her fears came back full force. The hot guy and Val had made goooo gooo eyes at one another for one year, just to find out she had an issue with his career choice. Would she find the will to just listen to her heart, that was the real question.. A good read!

As a student working on her second theological Master's, I found this book to be both evocative and challenging. DeFranza writes for a conservative Christian audience about matters of sexed embodiment--specifically, how all persons bear the image of God, regardless of how one is sexed at birth. This is risky ground to tread, especially given the lack of attention to the intersex community within Christian writing, but she does so with graciousness and hope for the inclusion of this group in Christian theology. DeFranza constructively critiques the male-female binary as the grounding for image-bearing, focusing most specifically on the works of Stanley Grenz and Pope John Paul II. She cautions against sexualizing the Trinity and over-sexualizing human interactions, giving practical implications of these ideologies. She concludes with an exhortation to pursue imaging Jesus Christ and that all persons can pursue this regardless of whether one is born male, female or intersex. I truly hope this gains a wide readership! I think the Church needs this book.

A Must Read For Youth Workers By PJ As a Christian educator, mental health therapist, and summer camp leader I have conversations with many young people struggling with the topic of gender and sexual identity. DeFranza's work has become a valuable resource both in educating me on the complexities of the issues and in preparing me to offer something better than simplistic, inadequate answers. I am so grateful for this resource.

Copple I highly recommend this book, particularly for those trying to sort out their theology related to sexual orientation and an appropriate response to individuals struggling in the world of Intersex. The culture wars have polarized this issue in such a way that it is difficult to think rationally about this topic. Megan Shannon DeFranza takes us into biblical history and historical theology to cast a refreshing and redemptive view that merits discussion and thought.

It was a shocker that both of them ended up having the same type of situation, but what kicks me is how the husband was all treating the situation like he was the one wronged, and as if his actions were justified. based off the fact that i had not previously read book 1, I am giving my review off of entering into a progressed strory I will give another review after i have read the first 1...

He is so good for her. I'm glad that Cass was able to use the good sense the Lord blessed her with when Mac popped up for a visit. Tao and her are great together. I know that the next book is going to be filled with drama because Jevon does not take losing well. I don't think that Mac is going to be too forgiving of Tao much longer either. Hopefully the next book comes out soon.

Tired of the obtuseness of Church and State; indignant at the injustice of both towards woman; at the wrongs inflicted upon one-half of humanity by the other half in the name of religion; finding appeal and argument alike met by the assertion that God designed the subjection of woman, and yet that her position had been higher under Christianity than ever before: Continually hearing these statements, and knowing them to be false, I refuted them in a slight résumé of the subject at the annual convention of the National Woman Suffrage Association, Washington, D. C, 1878.A wish to see that speech in print, having been expressed, it was allowed to appear in The National Citizen, a woman suffrage paper I then edited, and shortly afterwards in "The History of Woman Suffrage," of which I was also an editor. By Amazon Customer I read this book years ago as part of a Women's Studies class that discussed Women and Religion. Published in 1893, the book is well researched and talks to the history of oppression of women in the Christian Church. I consider this a classic in Women's Studies and helped me form my thoughts on gender and church. Highly recommend! (Just wish I could find a decent electronic copy!)

By Ilkka J Understanding gigantic superstructure entities like American political system, culture and society has been pretty dull business for a very long time. Reading about these issues can also be fun, and enjoyable. Writing these issues through the lenses of artistic pioneering pieces of literature, and even using the form of literal expression such as rap music, makes this new way of critical literature quite refreshing. The chapters on Alistair Beaton' s satire, and West Wing series as political art, really show up well some real problems running amok in contemporary politics and quality of education. If great part of the adult society are functionally illiterate, may be we should give opportunities to more progressive world, and more socially participating and engaging society and individuals. Great mix of the approaches and narratives of the past, recent and future, power politics from the history to contemporary using the teachings of the eras of the Greek, Dutch and American hegemonies. But, increasingly determined to depict the alternative ways forward, and future developments on rising up pedagogical and educational standards of average citizens, as the essential ingredient or prerequisite of any functional democracy.Furhermore, perhaps the best way to go forward is to try new ways of using advanced technology to have more citizen participation by using direct democracy and referendums. This way it would be possible to get citizens to participate more, and also to get the politicians to really represent us, and to be more responsible and accountable for their electorates. Year after year we are slipping towards increasing political apathy, and may be the means of direct democracy could be the way out of this pathological state or trend. Who would not gain of this intellectual, societal and educational progress? Where are the biggest blocks or hurdles for this rational societal development, and positive social and pedagogical progress?Steps towards eutopian realistic democracy and functional society,Steps away from the state of political apathy and distraction a la Moriae Encomium...

I enjoyed the clear and engaging style of writing, which drew me in and kept me reading. Fans of the West Wing will especially find this an intriguing discussion. There's lots of food for thought packed into this book, and I highly recommend it.

I like His First Hike and The Arrogant American most. Resurrecting the Jock reminds me of some of these old guys I used to play basketball with. You'd have to be a fool to pass this book by. I have been searching for something good to read for over a month now. It's been really hard with some of the books that are being published now, you really have to filter though a lot of junk to get to the good ones. I really enjoyed reading about this new world, with it's amazing characters. To me it reads like some of my favorite anime's. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good meaty read. Off to read the second book, I know I'll love it as well. Keep up the good work Mrs. Houston, you are becoming one of my favs. If this was made into an anime I would defiantly watch it.

While some of the instances that I read in Jenny's book were a surprise to me, I was witness to a few years of what James put her through. It is because of her son I know her and call her a dear friend. I strongly believe, being a child of an addict, the ex-wife of an addict, and a sister to an addict the disease does not just affect them; it affects all surrounded by them. Jenny did a wonderful job of putting what many of us feel onto paper for those who need it. I am thankful that I knew James otherwise I would not know Jenny and understand her pain. I will use this as a guide to being a better parent and hoping that one day I do not have to endure the pain she has been tormented with. The copy of my book was signed by her and inside the cover she wrote, "Mindy, as a mom, I hope you find this inspiring! Jenny" and that it did. I read the entire book in one night and I am glad that I did because I only saw the hurt James was causing himself, not the pain he was causing his mother, daughter, brother and sister, and his step-father. Jenny you are a strong lady and I am proud to know you.

Jenny is a friend from high school and since I now live out of state we have tried a couple of times to have lunch and catch up. Even though we've been unable to make plans, I'm sure I would have never known what she has gone through. I had an alcoholic father who abused my mother almost from day 1 of their 16 years of marriage. When I was 10, we literally ran for our lives before he would have shot my brother, my Mom and me. Jenny's story was a riveting look inside another Mom's painful journey and though hard to read at times, I'm so glad I did. It goes without saying that I cried several times while reading it. Jenny, you definitely have a gift in writing and should share more of where life has taken you and your family. I'm also glad you decided to let James read it! I am an avid reader and this autographed book holds a special place.

By Amazon Customer I would recommend this book to any addict, family member of an addict or friend of an addict. This story, although short is beautifully written in a way that makes your heart actually and physically hurt. You feel the pain of this mother's internal battle of loving her son and hating the addiction. It brings to light what is so taboo, loving a drug addict. Thank you Mrs. Greethurst for sharing your story and letting others they are not alone in this battle. I hope any addicts who read can take away from this how painful it is to watch a loved one slowly kill themselves. There is no worse pain than awaiting a phone, the phone call that tells you, you will never speak to or see that person again. Must read!

His many years of practice of psychiatry and his experience of human pain give him the potential to be of assistance to those who arrive at crucial crossroads in their life. His charitable attitude and the unconventional viewpoints he develops provide interesting answers to the greatest existentialist questioning of human beings. He speaks of his own questioning and recounts what he answers when his patients ask him about the meaning of life.

About the Author PAVLOS SAKKAS grew up in the milieu of psychiatry as his father was also a psychiatrist. Pavlos has practiced Psychiatry at the front line for the last thirty years and is a Professor of Psychiatry at the Medical School of the University of Athens. He has also been a Visiting Professor at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He has obtained prestigious scholarships and has accomplished substantial works in research, with hundreds of publications in international scientific journals. However, despite these great professional achievements, his greatest fondness is for teaching. He has spent his long academic career initiating thousands of medical students and hundreds of specialised psychiatrists into the world of psychiatry. Furthermore, featuring in the media on numerous occasions, he tries to familiarise the general public with the messages of modern Psychiatry and the significant developments achieved in recent decades. Pavlos Sakkas' inquisitive spirit has formulated fresh and enterprising points of view concerning certain aspects - that are still obscure - of psychiatry. In his clinical work, which has been met with high esteem, he has meanwhile applied special personal techniques of approach to a patient. It is these views and employed technique that are set out in his present book, which represents the distillation of his knowledge and experience.Constantine Leftheriotis is an illustrator and graphic designer, living and working in Athens, Greece. "Very Informative Psychiatric Studies" By Teresa "Revealing Psychiatry" is an interesting look at some of the issues regarding mental illness as well as other topics of study. The book draws upon case studies and is a good informative listen for anyone in the academic field of psychiatry. I like Pavlos Sakkas' approach through open-mindedness. This was a book I had to listen to in several sittings as it's a lot to absorb but very worthwhile.Jack Chekijian's narration was excellent. He's has a wonderful voice with spot on inflections as well as perfect enunciation. His professionalism shows and he's become one of my fave readers. In "Revealing Psychiatry" his delivery is well suited for the content. An overall great job.Audiobook gifted in exchange for an honest review.

By KP Revealing Psychiatry’s is a good book for people who are in Psychiatry field or work in relation of psychology. Stories in the book basically case studies and very educative. Jack Chekijian’s did outstanding job in narration, he voice was perfect, I will recommend this book and narrator Jack to my friends.
