She does everything "right," including making good grades, having great manners, and performing for her mother's friends on demand. It's never enough, and she wonders if will ever be. On the other hand, her father and her brother love Angela with intensity. They are doting and protective, never allowing her mother's vile nature to break her. The contrast in these relationships sets the tone for the events that carry Angela into high school and into dating relationships. Her best friends, Trudy and Lisa, are there when she meets her first love, Jacob. The rollercoaster of their high school relationships carries on through college, and some of the bonds remain intact.There is great writing here, such that readers will remain interested throughout. There are enough anchor stories and enough twists to maintain a level of drama that would be expected for this genre. I was able to appreciate the style of writing and the fact that it's an adult story but is without too much vulgarity. Overall, this book is well done

She had everything a girl could ever dram of with the exception of her Mother's love and acceptance. Se was the perfect child, but was pushed to find love in someone who used her up, but she learned a hard lesson and came out on top!!!!! I would like to read her Mom's point of view, what made her despise her own daughter? What happened after Angela exposed her for the true monster she was in front of her friends?

Looking at Angela you would think she has the perfect life,but thats far from the case. Angela has dealt with alot in her life and as each obsticle comes in her way shes able to push forward. This was a wonderful read and shows the strength that we have inside us all.
