About the Author RA Chandler is a mystery novelist that has created the African American private detective Garvey Fields. He has written and published short stories in the past but this is his first series of books at novel length. RA has a degree in English Literature, been a teacher for a short time and wants to write and publish books until his last breath. He loves to read Walter Mosley, Robert B. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. I love Garvey Fields… By TFLReader I fell in love with the main character of this series in its first novel, "The Waiting Game". As I couldn't wait to visit this man again, I went straight into the next book in the series and I haven't been disappointed yet. Fields is the sort of character that reminds me so much of John Sandford's Lucas Davenport - sexy, smart, witty, and dangerous. This latest book allowed the reader to get to know him even better as he takes a new job that, again, turned out to be much more than advertised as he ends up in another mystery involving multiple murders and gangsters. So much fun and another page turner. No doubt I will move right into the next book in this series for more of this enticing character.

'The Trouble Business" is the follow up to "The Waiting Game"which marked the debut of hard boiled, foul mouthed, and always horny private detective Garvey Fields. In this book, Fields takes a job that he is sure will be easy money, but any fan of detective fiction knows things never work out that way. As with his first novel, Chandler fills his stories with realistic characters, edgy dialogue, action, and lots of steamy sex. This is a perfect read while sitting on the beach or by the pool with a cold beer close by.

Wonderful book By Diana Martin This novel is a great follow up to The Waiting Game with Garvey Fields, the main character, back to his cheeky chappy best. He swaps being hotel security for using his charms to dissuade a sexy gold-digger, hired by some gangsters, from trying to take advantage of his client’s son and trust fund. But as you read you realize all is not what it seems and your left wondering who’s more concerned with whose safety.
